Interesting society and world building

Well this book really surprised me. I had no idea what it was about really and I was pretty sure that it was the author’s first book. Sometimes that doesn’t mean the best for the book you’re about to start. However, I really enjoyed this book and look forward to where the next ones go.
This book is about an interesting serial killer society that follows a demonic religion and the traditions that go along with it. Anna is almost of age for her arranged marriage. But what happens if she catches the eye of someone else?
The author uses a mix of dual POV and past/present to weave the story together. It keeps you on your toes in the beginning and also allows the story to move quickly. I do have questions still about the society, religion, and world, but that does make me what to keep up the series and see where it all goes
